Christmas is 5 days away!
What a week!
Unbeknownst to us, after Jamie recovered from his tummy bug about two and a half weeks ago, he caught a cold. Trey thought it would be a good idea to go to his doctor the 18th just to be safe..I'm glad we did. The doctor told us that Jamie had a slight ear infection, and gave us a couple of prescriptions for our little guy. He now is on antibiotics and will be on them for about 10 days. The doctor also gave us a prescription for cough medicine so he can sleep. This is also his first ear infection. I think Jamie's been quite a trooper. This is the first time he's been sick 'back to back' like this.
So hopefully Jamie will start to feeling better, and so will both of us. Daddy's a little more sick than Mommy, but he should feel better soon. Mommy's slightly sick, but is doing well. We should all be better soon.
We're looking forward to celebrating Christmas with everyone.
Life is busy as usual.. but especially this time of year.

Jamie's Learning SO Fast!
It's been a week since I last posted.
Jamie's learned a lot. This past week, Jamie learned how to give 'high-fives'.
Jamie just loves the attention he gets when he does it. He smiles so big when he 'high fives' anyone. I think he enjoys it.
Jamie also learned something new this week. Besides recognizing some letters, he learned how to say the letters to the word 'Ireland'. After we spell it with him, he'll try to say it. He'll say what sounds like 'Ireloo'. It's fun to hear him say it. My inlaws have a book on Ireland, so that's where he gets that from.
Jamie also is picking up his speech. Besides saying his usual phrases, 'door, hi' and still saying single words, he picked up a new phrase. He already knew how to say 'uh-oh' and 'no'. His new phrase is 'uh-oh, no'. It's funny to hear. He also says 'uh-oh' whenever he drops something, which is fairly often. He still knows how to show me what he wants, from getting something he wants from the fridge, to pointing at things he wants.
Jamie is still doing his swim lessons. Jamie and I went to his swim class again this past week. This next Thursday will be his last lesson! :-(

Great News!
Well, after a week, Jamie is ALL BETTER! Jamie's over his tummy bug.
I'm so glad he's ok. He's gotten sick only one time before like this, so we are very lucky. I kept him home from Swim Class this Thursday, so I could be sure that he wasn't still sick. He will go to his Swim Class next Thursday.
Trey's Birthday is today! Happy Birthday to Trey! We are going out to dinner tonight, and we should have a great time. We are still having his birthday party this weekend, which should be fun as well. I will post pictures when I get them.
We will also be going back to church this weekend. I think he'll do ok in Nursery. I think he'll have fun.
Everyone is doing fine, and life is busy as always.

A Light at the End of the Tunnel
It's been a few days since Jamie initially got sick and He is doing much better. Yay! He has a lingering cough though, and I seem to need to wipe his nose often, but other than that, he is fine. He seems to be tired most of the time, but that's to be expected when you're sick. I'm hoping that this will only last a couple of more days, and then he'll be ok. I am enjoying cuddling and giving him comfort.
Everything else is going fine, and we were actually able to do some errands this past weekend. That was nice.
We are looking forward to a night out on Friday, which is Trey's birthday. His grandparents are going to watch him. Trey also has the entire day off from work! :D . We're excited! Trey also will have a birthday party this weekend also.
Things are Looking Up! Only a couple of more days..

Hard Times
This past Thursday we went to his swim lesson again. Jamie ended up making a mess in the pool, so our lesson was cut short. That Thursday he came home and we found out he's not feeling well. He's got a little stomach bug, and that doesn't leave him feeling too great. Since he didn't feel too great at all, so we all stayed home from church. I'm hoping he'll be better by this coming week, when we celebrate Trey's birthday Saturday. I feel sad for him, and how he must feel. :-( It's just not Sunday without Church. :-) If he gets any worse, it will be time to go to the doctor.
Everything else is going well. We even got some Christmas shopping done this past Saturday.
This next week Jamie should be feeling better. We hope he'll do better. :-)

More Exciting Developments
I realize it's been about a week or so since I've written last.
We all had a Great Thanksgiving. My mom was able to take care of Jamie that morning for us. We spent the morning volunteering at Valero (Trey's work) for their Annual Thanksgiving Dinner with the Troops stationed here in San Antonio.
We both had fun doing that. Then, when that was done, we went back to my mom's house to eat Thanksgiving Dinner together. We were there for a little bit longer, and then went to my inlaws for the evening. It was fun for all of us that day.
Well, today we had a pretty good day at church. Jamie again cried when he realized we weren't coming in with him, but he was fine. He again lasted the entire time.
It was fun at dinnertime today. I was feeding him applesauce, and put some on the sppon for him to put in his mouth. He took it a step further, and dragged the spoon against the bottom of the bowl, got some, and put it in his mouth by himself! He learned how to use the spoon!! :D That was really cool! Daddy got to see it too. We both cheered, and he clapped his hands.. :-) :-) He's so cute!
Jamie also rediscovered the word "no". He's starting to say it to everything we say! I guess this is his "NO" phase. Oh, well, we'll just have to wait it out. I'll enjoy it while it lasts and laugh along the way.
Another Exciting thing that is happening is with Jamie. Jamie is still mostly pre-verbal, but he is starting to point to things as if to ask what they are. He is also figuring out everything has a name. We are giving him the names of things, and I think this will help him to learn more words. We are also trying to read to him more.
We are having a great time with our Jamie. We enjoy him everyday.
Here are some pictures taken at Jamie's 2nd birthday party. These are the ones I have.

Here is Jamie playing with one of his presents!

He is playing with another present. He enjoys this one as well.

This is a picture of his cake. It was yummy!

A Great Discovery!
Well, Today in church, Jamie went to Nursery, as usual. Jamie wanted me to stay with him and help him, but I just gave him to someone in the nursery and left him. He cried for a few minutes, but he lasted the whole time this time! :D Yay! Jamie was such a Big Boy! We later found out that Jamie was a little fussy, but did fine. Hopefully, with time, he won't cry as much when we leave him. I think as he gets older, that will only get better. :-)
By the way, I think Jamie's adjusted to the new time ok.
Every week is always pretty busy, but it was kind of relaxing for us. We got a Friday night at home to relax all together. That doesn't happen very often anymore. We were able to clean up the house and things.

Nursery Update
I said I'd keep you informed of what happened today in Nursery. We switched this weekend to Daylight Savings Time (an hour earlier, so we gained an hour). I think that really messed up Jamie. He seemed to be tired and cranky..and it's understandable. He wasn't in Nursery for 10 minutes and heard him crying. He wanted Mommy, and Mommy came into Nursery. Daddy went in too, but not at the same time. I'm really hoping he'll make the adjustment in time smoothly and quickly..but it's different for every child, I'm told. {Sigh} Hopefully he'll do better and adjust.
Jamie has such an attitude. This week, he's started to take us by the hand and actually leads us to what he wants, or where he wants to go..! So cute!
He actually led me to Nursery before Sacrament Meeting. I told him we had to go to Sacrament meeting first then nursery. I am hoping next week will be better. He may not say a lot at any one time, but I think he understands more than he lets on.

A Trip to the Doctor!
On Friday, Jamie went to his 2-year old check up! He wasn't excited at all to be there, in fact, as soon as we walked in, he wanted to go home! Poor boy! There was really no choice though, some things have to be done. He is growing beautifully, and we found out from his last check-up, that he is now 33 pounds and about 3 feet tall. He is very tall for his age, but it's just right for him. He is doing great!
We'll see how he does in Nursery today. I'll keep you posted.

Things are Getting Better!
Well, what a week and a half we've had!
On Halloween night, we were able to pick up our 2000 Honda Accord! Jamie's Grandparents were able to take him out Trick-or Treating. All of us are feeling better, but Trey is still recovering. It shouldn't be long now! :-) Things are going smoothly in terms of dealing with the aftermath of the accident.
Mommy will be nervous when she drives, as she was driving at the time of the accident. We'll see how it goes. I think I'll be ok. :-) As for Jamie, if you were wondering, does not hesitate to ride in the car, despite the accident. :-) That is good.
Jamie has a new saying that has me laughing at times. I had wanted to make things fun in the bath, so I started counting 1-2-3 whee. Jamie caught on fast, and sometimes when I count now, even if I don't get to three, he'll say whee..It's funny. He's so amusing at times. He said another two-word phrase too 'door, hi'.
We'll have to see this Sunday how Jamie does in Nursery. I'm hoping he'll do better than last week.
Jamie is doing very well in swim class. He loves the water, and although he's unsure of himself at times, he loves to splash and play! He can hold on to the edge of the pool and scoot with his hands along the side by himself!! I found he didn't need help! That was neat to see him do today.

A Stressful time for All of us !
Lots of things have been happening, not all of them have been fun.
On Saturday, October 20th, we all were involved in quite a serious car accident. We are all ok with some minor injuries, but are all expected to be fully healed by this weekend. We for now have a rental car, which is nice, but we went car shopping last weekend. Grandma watched Jamie for us. We were going to get a Honda Civic, but by the time we got back there, someone else had bought it. We are going to get a gold 2000 Honda Accord instead. It's a very nice car! We'll pick it up sometime this week hopefully! Well, enough about that.
We experienced another little setback. Jamie only went about halfway through Nursery without getting really upset that we weren't there. Trey brought him to Mommy. I took him back to Nursery..and he loved singing time. Jamie loves bubbles! We can try again next week for nursery.
We had Jamie's 2nd birthday party yesterday! It was fun!! Jamie was very interested to see all the neat toys he recieved. He's getting the idea of opening presents.
We had cake and ice cream, and all that. I'll post some pictures when I get some from family.
Jamie is such fun to be around, but there are times when I really think otherwise.

It Finally Happened!
Well, it finally happened! After being in the nursery at church for a few months, Jamie went into Nursery all by himself without Mommy or Daddy! (He had previously had Mommy or daddy in the nursery with him.) Of course, Mommy was thinking about him the whole time. He didn't cry or anything..He just went straight for the toys! He's becoming such a Big Boy!
Daddy went to go pick him up from Nursery after his class, and says that Jamie didn't want to leave the Nursery! That's great!
I think Jamie will love going to Nursery on Sundays, and being with the other kids his age there. I think there will even be a time when he will look forward to going to Nursery.

A Brand New Breakthrough...
He is now almost 2 years old. He will be 2 on the 28th of October.
Yesterday, 10/09/07, as I was getting him ready for dinner, he said his first two-word phrase! And he learned a new word, 'more'. The new two word phrase is 'More cheese'. It sounds like 'Moo chee'. He said it!!! I was soo excited that I called Trey and my mom to share the news. Both Grandma and Daddy were really excited about that! He said it again at breakfast, too.
What a Smart Boy!!
He also learned how to make a Shh.. sound. I think he learned that from me.
Now if I do it, he does it back! Isn't that cute?
He also now can help count up to Fourteen! He is trying to say a sound or so for numbers eleven and twelve when we count, and he often skips thirteen to say fourteen! We always laugh when he does that. LOL!

I have got a few pictures of him during the last few days. I thought you guys might want to see what he's been up to.
Here I am getting ready for bed. I am lying on the couch
next to Daddy.
Mommy got a picture of me on my bike! I'm dressed this time!
I am finding out what's in this box. I am incredibly curious about everything!

Little Jamie On the Move
It never cease to amaze me what Jamie can do.
Just this past month or so Jamie learned how to count to ten.
Here are some pictures of him on the move, or not. Some of these were taken on his 'month' birthday.

I am leaning forward on my trike, but I've figured out how to get on.. Yay!
I'm actually sitting on my bike, but you can't see it!
I know, I'm in nothing but my diaper and my socks, but Mommy finally got her picture of me on my trike!

Little Jamie
Jamie is 23 months. I can't believe it. I know what those mothers mean when they say that they remember just yesterday coming home from the hospital with their 'babies'. Next month will be his birthday! :-) Yay! He'll be two years old this time next month.. We'll have a party and everything. We are still in the planning stages though. Jamie started Swimming lessons yesterday.. He did so well.
Daddy is really enjoying being a dad, and it's great to see them play together.
Here are some pictures from last month (22 1/2) months:

Here I am just relaxing on the couch. See how comfy I am.. I'm just hanging out.
Here I am playing my Little Leaps Game system.. I really enjoy my games and ask to play them more than once a day!
